You know those escape games on your phone where you have to find clues, keys and what not to get out of a room? Well, that game’s brought to life by HintHunt. Last week my ladies (as usual) and I were given the chance to try out HintHunt at Times Square. We had to escape the James Murdock Office where detective James was killed. Our goal: find the killer & once we do, we’ll find the key out of the room. The moment we were led into the office, it was indeed something that I wasn’t expecting.
Let me tell you that there’s only been a 35% success rate on escaping the James Murdock room and when we heard that, of course, we wanted to be part of that 35%. We weren’t backing down on any kind of challenge, let alone this one. The game is for a group of 3 and above, so, the more, the merrier and like the old saying goes, 2 heads are better than one. Therefore my dear reader, drag your friends and bring them to HintHunt.
Here are some of the things you need to remember to get out of the escape room:
- Lots and lots and lots and lots of common sense. You know how they say that common sense isn’t so common these days? Well, try to pick them up along the way cause you’ll need it!
- Teamwork. Make sure you guys communicate! COMMUNICATION is the key
- Be patient when tackling puzzles or clues.
- Keep checking. Turn the room upside down if you have to.
Anyway, moving on, we thought we weren’t going to make it out of that room when we saw that we only had roughly 2 minutes before time’s up. But we did it anyway with 1 minute and 16 seconds left on the clock! ~oh yeahhh~ I would lie if I said we didn’t panic in there but we did. We were on our last clue and out of our minds asking and thinking why it wasn’t working…because apparently we weren’t looking at the right places!!
They have another room called the Zen room which is Japanese inspired. This room is our next goal cause talk of the HintHunt town is the success rate of this one is much lesser. So, I’m going to see you again, HintHunt!
