A fondue restaurant recently opened its doors to the public at BoxPark and it’s called The Melting Pot. When I first heard of their concept, I thought, there was nothing interesting about it…you know, just the normal fruits and marshmallow that you get to dip in warm chocolate.
Last week however, Mae and I were able to give the restaurant a try…and we had a super fun experience!
For starters we had the classic Alpine Swiss fondue with sliced bread, apples and veggies. My favourite was the cauliflower dipped in cheese! Tasted divine! Along with it, they served us their strawberry almond salad. It was a bit too sweet and too fruity for my taste but I’m pretty sure if you love strawberries you’d love this.
The main course which consisted shrimps, mushroom sacchetti, beef, salmon, tuna, mushroom and broccoli. This concept was somehow similar to the famous Asian shabu-shabu where you simply dunk in your raw meat and veggies in their hot soup and wait for a minute to cook. Of course, The Melting Pot’s main course didn’t taste anything like Asian but I’m telling you it was damn good!
Their dessert impressed me cause they made this yin & yang dip in melted dark and white chocolate. Creative!
Besides the food, their interior was very homey too. They leave their windows open at night so it’s the prefect place to chill with friends and family especially now that it’s getting colder 🙂 And of course, a good meal must come with a good service! Melting Pot is an all in one package! 🙂
